Damn good poached eggs. January 8, 2009 Oster 4716 Egg Cooker This gadget works great! As one reviewer wrote, let the eggs set out for awhile to warm up. This works well, but to keep from over cooking you can also use just a bit less water as others have stated. Other than that, you'll figure it out by the secound or third try. Hard boiled eggs are great as well as poached eggs. I have not tried soft boiled eggs yet, but it seems to hold true to what others have said... Let the eggs warm up a bit, or add less water for the perfect egg! Hard boiled are the no brainer in this case. Just pierce the large end, use recommended amount of water and you'll be good to go! (No warm up time needed.) Just remember to remove as soon as the light goes out, for all types of eggs this product will cook. And un-plug it to remove any fear of it somehow staying on. And one more thing... Use a vegi spray for the poached eggs or they WILL stick! I tried a olive spray at first, but the taste just dosen't go with the poached eggs. And be liberal with the cooking spray. It's healthy, and will make the eggs much easer to remove as well as protecting the poaching tray. Jim.
Oster 4716 Egg Cooker January 8, 2009 We love this product. It makes perfect poached and hard boiled eggs every time. The small size of the appliance allows for easy storage.
Hard to handle January 6, 2009 This egg cooker is fast.
Other egg cookers have a handle on the rack to remove all boiled eggs by lifting the tray, with this cooker each individual egg must be removed using a towel so as not to burn your hands.
Further, why not a 'sound-tone' when the eggs are finished cooking? Okay it turns off, but the eggs keep cooking in their own heat while you run around doing other things.
The designers obviously don't like boiled eggs and never use the product.
egg cooker January 6, 2009 Love it.. love it.. love it. We recived one of these as a wedding present 47 years ago this month... I loaned it out to my mother ... and she never returned it.. Over the years I missed it but never replaced it until this past Nov... While surfing Amazon I came accross it and desided it was time... I'm so glad I did... I've used it several times since reciving it and I will never be without one again. Thank you

really easy to use January 6, 2009 This is a great egg cooker. I've made several batches with mine & they've turned out great every time. I especially like that it turns itself off (although you do need to get them out as soon as possible so they don't get too heated) This is the second one that my Mom has gotten & she loves hers too.
