I got the 8x11 version of this. It's soft, not extremely thick since it's still on the cheap end of the spectrum, but it's a lot thicker than, say, a cheap IKEA rug. I bought it primarily for my downstairs neighbors, to reduce the noise of my dog roaming around the hardwood floors of my apartment above them. It does that job pretty well.
In addition, it looks good!

Plusses for this rug:
+ not too heavy - easy to transport
+ so far, easy to clean
+ rug fabric is smooth and doesn't shed. my experience with more expensive wool rugs is that they shed.
+ this rug has been easier to clean because you can wipe up stuff that spills on it fairly easily, it's dark so it hides any potential stains, and it doesn't shed so I'm not forever picking up rug lint. this is really important to me cause i have two little ones, one of whom still puts everything in her mouth.
minuses -
the background is black, if you have a roomba, you will have to jimmy rig it to work on this rug b/c of the way roomba cliff sensing technology works - it doesn't go on very dark surfaces, b/c it thinks it's going to fall off stairs or something. we don't have stairs, so luckily, the we were able to fix this fairly easily.
pattern - it's a little much for me, but to be fair in my review, i didn't choose this rug and i wouldn't have chosen it based on the picture. my boyfriend and i each liked different rugs and we ended up going with his choice. i would say the picture is fairly true to the actual design and colors. you have to keep in mind that this is a very dark rug so it makes the room feel heavier than our last rug. also, the pattern is pretty busy depending on your other furniture, it could clash.
overall - for the price we are very satisfied. so far the quality has been more than acceptable, and we are basically expecting this to be our rug until the kids get a little older and we can get something nicer.
