I needed a new rug mat and this fits the bill. I was easily able to cut it to size and my main rug, which is 3 x 5, has stayed in place perfectly. Since that rug is at the high trafficked kitchen sink area, I am very pleased that it keeps the rug in place so well.

I purchased two - one to use under a thin oriental rug that sits on a rough slate floor and the second one under a thick woven runner in a high traffic area that was constantly sliding on hardwood floor with its old pad. Both are great and I would definitely purchase again. The one that sits on the slate floor made a tremendous difference and I was actually surprised how well it padded the rug because the surface is SO uneven and the rug is very thin. I cut the other 5 x 8 in half and taped the two pieces together for the runner - it no longer slides so I am very happy I have purchased another type of premium pad from one of the big box stores (for about 50% more) and these are better.

I switched to this carpet pad about 6 weeks ago. It works really well, even with my three dogs. I only have to adjust it a little every couple of days because of the dogs racing around, but with normal use, the rugs stay put.

Phew, this thing reeks. Yes, it is functional and cushy but I had to leave it to "air out" on the balcony for a week (and the rain washed it). I buy this rug pad, and they throw in the toxic fumes for free. There's nothing "natural" about it. Otherwise, it's definitely one of the least expensive pads I've found anywhere.

I bought this for a rug in my upstairs bathroom. The bathrug was constantly on the move and was driving me nuts. Now that I have a soon to be walking child, I needed to secure the rug so he or I don't slip on it during bath time. This product worked perfectly! I cut it to fit and it hasn't moved an inch since. I will probably buy more of these for other throw rugs around the house.
Another application for it is to cut a small square of any leftovers after you cut it to fit your rug and use it to open stubborn food jars, or use it in drawer to prevent things from sliding. It has dozens of applications. I LOVE this stuff.
