5 out of 5 stars Baby saver   September 24, 2008
My wife had been in labor for several months. Neither of us was sure when "the day" would come but we were both prepared for anything...or so we thought. Janice (my wife) was outside tending to three of the most supple ribeys I have ever seen on a grill, while I ran inside to grab a camera. These meat selections were so exceptional we both felt they deserved a photograph. Returning with camera in hand, I clamored back down the steps from the back porch and skipped towards the grill. Suddenly, my heart stopped and I froze in place. I was petrified to see that my Janis was doubled over; her mouth open in obvious agony. The pain was so intense she wasn't able to scream and saliva was dripping from her lips like streams of corn syrup. More importantly, the steaks were beginning to burn. No time - If I didn't move fast my beloved wife would continue to suffer, but If those steaks didn't get turned soon, all would be lost.
I quickly threw the camera on the tripod and set the timer for 10 seconds - no wait...better make it 20. Then I sprinted towards her and like a major league baseball player sliding into home plate, I slid my body beneath her to catch as she fell. With my other hand I removed the handy stainless steel spatula from its convenient carrying case and caressed the polyurethane handle until it rested at the top of my fingers. The length was just right. I reassured my wife as she dialed 911 on her cell phone and I was able to continue turing the steaks and moving them off the fire. Had the utensil not been as long and sturdy as pictured, we may very well have lost the most important addition to our lives - red juicy steaks. Janice eventually got the medical assistance she required, and although she wasn't able to join me when I severed that first delicious piece of carne and revelled in its perfection, I know in some small way she appreciated my quick thinking, and the wonderful effort I made that day...for all of us.

These tools for one really work like they are intended to. I needed these one day to fix the car and so I looked inside my trunk and noticed that I had them inside a handy pack which they come in. I used the spork rotor handle to loosen up the ignition, and then the fork projectile to set the timing gears in place. They are even made of metal so you can use a magnetic pick if you drop them inside the engine, the only problem I had with them is that they have plastic handles which are difficult to use if you have oil on your hands. Makes great gifts for mom too as she can use them in the kitchen.
